Network for health research and innovation

nri_logo_networks_rgb.jpg(26.11.12) From its initiation in 2006 the Nordic University Hospital Research Conference (NRC) has been offered as an arena for everybody involved in clinical research and translational research in the Nordic countries. As of 2012 the network is established as a formal entity. The new organisation is called Nordic Health Research and Innovation Networks – in short: NRI-Networks.

The overall goal for the network is to promote better clinical practice built on active research and innovation throughout the Nordic Region. More specifically we want to focus on the politics, organisation, financing and implementation of health research and innovation. We want to promote Nordic research cooperation and develop the relationship between hospitals and the industry.

nri_logo_rgb.jpgThe yearly conferences at Solstrand, the 8th in a row to be arranged May 6th - May 8th 2013 at Solstrand Hotel – hereafter called the NRI-conferences - will still be important as the arena to meet, but NRI will also take on other challenges; projects/networks. We are now initiating networks between professionals in the Nordic countries, who on their own terms work in order to promote clinical research and innovation.

A Nordic Monitor Network is already in place, and networks for Nurse Researchers and for Network for innovation units at Nordic University Hospitals will be launched in 2013. Other organisations working to promote health research and innovation in the health care sector will be invited to join and to use the NRI conference as their Nordic meeting place. If you think you may qualify, do not hesitate to contact us.

- Although there is much being done in order to promote health research and Innovation in all of the Nordic countries, there is a need for a body which can work on a shared Nordic level, says leader of the
NRI Board, CEO of Haukeland University Hospital, Stener Kvinnsland. - We have a lot to learn from each other. I believe building on our common cultural and professional heritage will both enhance clinical practice and secure our competitiveness as region, says he.
