Werner, Jochen

He studied human medicine at the University of Kiel, Germany. After finishing the third exam he directly received his doctor’s degree in 1987 and started working as a doctor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, of the University of Kiel, Germany (Chairman: Prof. Dr. H. Rudert). In 1993, he qualified as professor for otorhinolaryngology. In 1995, he assumed the function of associate professor and vice chairman. In the meantime, he was able to finalize his qualifications in the fields of allergology and plastic surgery. In 1998, Prof. Werner accepted the call to be Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, of the Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. From 2004 to 2006 he also filled the position of Dean of Medical Education of the Medical Faculty of the Philipps University of Marburg, Germany.

Prof. Werner was awarded numerous scientific prizes and he is member of several scientific and ENT specific societies and associations, among others also the International Society of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA). Prof. Werner is honorary member of the Hungarian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and the Egyptian Society of Ear, Nose, Throat & Allied Sciences.
